Lindsey + Corey | NYC Central Park Engagement

When Lindsey, Corey and I started throwing around ideas for their upcoming engagement session back in February, the one idea that I proposed was to have the shoot in a place that was meaningful to them, and since they don’t live in the Washington, D.C. area, there’s not much here that was as important to them as something close to home. We exchanged a few more emails back and forth with more specifics about times and places until finally, last weekend, I drove up to NYC to shoot their engagement session. We spent the majority of our time walking around, laughing and possibly even a little goofing off (and getting lost) in Central Park, eventually finding the spot where Corey first proposed. Afterwards, we enjoyed a fantastic dinner at a Mexican restaurant overlooking the Hudson and the gorgeous night time New York City skyline.

In just over a month, I will be shooting their wedding at the beautiful Antrim 1844 Estate in Taneytown, Maryland and if spending 5 hours with them in NYC is any indication, it will be an amazing time.

  • Gorgeous! I love the whole session!

  • Luis:

Gorgeous tones. I love the shot when they are in the street and you get the beautiful golden light coming in behind them. :)

  • Corey:

If anyone is having any doubts about using Leo as their photographer, doubt no more. This was an incredible day and experience. To have him drive all the way up and spend the time with us was just incredible and fantastic. A memorable day to say the least and some sweet ass photos. We can’t wait for the wedding and what he comes up with!

  • Leo:

Thanks so much! I had a great time hanging out with you guys (and thanks for the delicious dinner afterwards!)

  • I turned on some music and view your pics one by one scrolling down, its feels like an MTV. Cinematic frames Leo! I adore the shots in the trees and the street shot with the burst of setting sun totally triggers my senses.

  • Kyle:

These are so beautiful Leo! My favorite is by far the one in the street where they’re kissing and there’s all this gorgeous golden light and there’s a taxi driving behind them. So NYC. So awesome.

  • Great locations, beautiful lighting. Awesome set!!

  • I SO need to move back to NYC. I love the light in this shoot. Great job.

  • Graeme Crawford:

Great work using the sun as a backlight, not easy to do at all and you’ve pulled it off brilliantly. Hope you enjoy the wedding!!

  • I love the shots where the city is just peeking through all the central park loveliness.

  • beautiful, warm fuzzy and cuddly. i love this session. it is so carefree

  • I love the use of the light in these and the shot where Corey has Lindsey enveloped in a big bear hug totally grabs me. There’s just something so strong yet tender about it.

  • You can tell from these images that they are totally in love and having a great time. A job well done.

  • The golden sunset between the buildings pictures are GORGEOUS.

  • That warm light is amazing, great job capturing it. Love the shots of them in the city but they’re all great. Fantastic job.

  • Simply gorgeous work Leo. Love that last image – but the light in the streets at sunset is pretty hard to beat.

  • Beautifully lit, kick ass photos!

  • The photos in the street with the lens flare and the sunset? Whoa. Everyone else is saying it too. Nice job!
