Tiffany + Nhat // Fort Washington Bridal Session

Tiffany & Nhat had a fantastic traditional Vietnamese wedding several weeks ago, complete with a giant roasted pig and a magic show :) Including enough time in the day for all of this awesomeness, as well as some fun bridal portraits of the two of them seemed like a bit too much to fit into a single day, so instead, we opted to do a bridal portrait session a few weeks before the wedding.

Hope you enjoy!

Rachel + Chris | Bridal Session in DC

Clearly, we couldn’t contain the awesome of Rachel & Chris’s Woodlawn Manor wedding to just one day, so here are some photos from a bridal portrait session we shot a month later around the National Mall in DC.

Seth + Adam | West Hollywood

Last week, I had the chance to head out to Los Angeles to photograph Seth, who I had met while photographing Sonia & Kevin’s wedding in Pasadena this summer, for the cover of his upcoming book. Of course, besides the awesome shots we got for the book, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to photograph some of Seth’s animals, including Maggie, his absolutely adorable French Bulldog, not to mention a couple of goats and some chickens. In their backyard. In the middle of the city.

Afterwards, we drove around West Hollywood and got some fun shots of Seth with his boyfriend, Adam, including stopping off at Andalusia House, where they used to live and which had an incredibly storied Hollywood history dating back decades. We capped the evening off with a family shot on the beach in Santa Monica.

Of course, I had a whole two days in LA, so I also managed to hike up Runyon Canyon, check out Griffith Observatory, walk around Echo Park, where I was staying, and head out to Santa Monica Pier, where I caught a good hour of a pretty great free concert, but managed to miss out on seeing a sunset all two days. Of course.

Gotta save something for next time.

Olivia + Tony | Destination Bridal Session in San Francisco

Olivia & Tony had their wedding in DC at the Bolger Center just over a month ago, but since they both live in San Francisco and I was going to be there for a weekend at the culmination of my epic road trip, I asked if they’d like to do an impromptu trash-the-dress / bridal shoot with them while I’m town, to which they happily said yes.

Of course, we had planned for some beautiful sunset lighting and the Golden Gate Bridge in all its orange splendor, but the weather had other, foggier and rainier plans for us in San Francisco. Luckily, Oakland had some beautiful blue skies and was just a bridge away, so we started off in César Chávez Park, where we almost ran into a recreational urban camper while we were taking photos next to what we had thought was an uninhabited tent. From there, we decided to try for some post-sunset photos at Land’s End, where we were treated to more classic SF fog, and we decided that if fog is what we had, we’d really have fun with it and turn the second half of our session into something a bit more dramatic.

We capped off the night with an absolutely delicious burger and some great drinks at Jasper’s Corner Tap downtown, courtesy of Olivia & Tony – thanks for an amazing time, you guys!

OK – I cheated and the shot of the Golden Gate wasn’t from Olivia & Tony’s session, but from that Monday, just a couple hours before I hopped on a plane to head back home, because really, there was no way that I was going to leave SF without seeing it.

Amanda | Senior Session

Here’s Amanda, a local senior who I had a chance to photograph in and around Manassas Battlefield Park a couple of days ago. She’s an aspiring photographer herself, so we incorporated a couple of shots of her with her camera as well as a couple with my Rolleiflex.
